What distinguishes living organisms from non-living entities? One of the hallmarks of life is metabolism- the process of taking in and converting matter into energy to sustain vital functions. The identity of life, therefore, can be characterized as the ability to generate thermal energy.
Microorganisms, being unseen to the human eye, are frequently disregarded or even detested in urban settings. The artwork endeavors to create an optimal habitat for the microorganisms' growth and reproduction through human energy and technology, thus elevating their thermal energy. As a result, the audience can directly comprehend and develop an emotional attachment to their existence through this heat. Furthermore, the visualization of temperature enables an indirect recognition of the microorganisms' presence. The aim is to encourage the viewer to relinquish their reliance on visually dominated perception and to stimulate other senses.

生物と非生物の違いは何だろうか。 生物の定義のひとつは代謝 である。物質を体内に取り込み、それを熱に変換し身体機能を維持している。つまり、生命のアイデンティティは＜熱＞である。
微生物たちは目に見えないため、同じ生物でありながらもその存在を軽んじられ、都市空間においては嫌悪されがちである。本作は、人間のエネルギーやテクノロジーにより微生物たちの生育・増殖に最適な環境を提供することで＜熱＞を高め、鑑賞者はその＜熱＞により、直接的に微生物の存在を認識・愛着を感じることができる。一方、温度から可視化されたイメージにより、微生物たちの存在を間接的に認識することも可能となるが、視覚優位による論理的思考を手放し、それ以外の感覚を呼び覚ますきっかけとなることを願っている。
